Kevin and I decided to go out for dinner on Saturday night. We chose Sam Snead’s Grill and Tavern because it’s a new restaurant in the Carolina Forest area. I highly recommend it! Our food was delicious and the service was excellent. Request Jessica as your server.
The restaurant is named after the top professional golfer so it is decorated to celebrate his career and the sport. There are several Sam Snead restaurants and many of them are located in Florida. This new Myrtle Beach location is the only one in SC which makes sense as the Grand Strand is home to over 100 golf courses.
The menu is divided into sections such as “Tee Off” (Appetizers) and “In The Fairway” (Steaks). The prices are average to high for the Carolina Forest area, but the quality of the food combined with the great service was worth what we paid for our dinner. The atmosphere is very nice with dim lighting which made it easy to relax. All of the staff members were polite and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience.
We ordered the rare tuna sashimi for our appetizer. You can get this in a half or full order. The fish was fresh and seasoned well. $15
Kevin also tried the onion soup. It came out very hot which doesn’t always happen when we order this so we appreciate that. It’s the small things in life. $7
Kevin ordered the feature that night for his entree which was sea bass served with potatoes and broccoli. Excellent. $24
I had the reuben and would definitely recommend it. The sandwich is huge so there will be plenty to take home. $13
Our server recommend the Baileys cheesecake for dessert and we are glad that she did. This is one of the best desserts I’ve had in a while. $7
